Radiant Heat Transfer Plates. These PEX heat transfer plates are manufactured from aluminum using stamping method and are designed to improve performance of the radiant floor heating system by dispersing the heat from PEX tubing into the flooring above. Omega-shaped plates are made in the USA. U-shaped plated are imported.
Heat Transfer Plates are used in so called “staple up systems” where the floor is warmed by placing heating tubes underneath the floor. Aluminum material wraps around the heating tube and then spreads out and attaches to the under side of the heated floor. Heat transfer plates perform three important functions.
Jan 10, 2018· Aluminum Heat Plate 11 in. long x 6 in. wide. Perfect for heat distribution in staple up radiant floor applications and should also be used with floor heat grid modules. The heat plate will accommodate 1/2 in. or 5/8 in. PEX tubing. Excellent way to transfer heat
User rating: 4.2/5Radiant Heat Transfer Plates provides 270-degree contact between the pipe and the panel, delivering higher thermal conductivity, Aluminum panels are lightweight, with an installed weight of just 1.5 lb/ft2, reducing the need for any structural reinforcements of the subfloor and increasing response time.

RHT OMEGA Heat Transfer Plates offer an efficient method of distributing radiant heat from PEX tubing. Made in America from a mill finish aluminum. The channel is a wrap around omega shape (Ω) for a snug fit that holds the tubing in place very effectively in above floor systems such as the RHT Floor Panel
Stamped Metal Heat Transfer Plates - Metal steel or aluminum flashing with a channel rolled into it to wrap around the radiant tubing. They proved improved heat transfer over no-plates but they can be noisy due to tubing expansion and due to the quality of the channel in plate, usually require a silicone caulk to "glue" the plate to the tubing.
Before the tubing is installed, an aluminum heat transfer plate is installed to help conduct heat through the floor. Now, the tubing can be installed and the finished flooring put in. If the floor covering will be soft, carpet or vinyl for example, then a thin layer of wood (called luan) should be installed.
Jan 04, 2012· While everyone can agree on certain aspects of radiant heat systems e.g., most of the time PEX tubing is the right choice, there is a lot of divergence of opinion on the use of aluminum heat transfer plates in under joist installations over untreated living space. The closest I've been able to come to a reliable answer is a study done that seems to suggest that they are a good idea (ASHRAE
Aluminum heat transfer plates can be stapled to the plywood using an electric stapler. Space should be left between the ends of the plates to allow for expansion of the aluminum. We recommend the use of aluminum heat transfer plates as part of an under-floor radiant

Electrical Resources. Please note: These panels require the use of #8 screws which are not included Use Uponor Wirsbo Joist Trak, extruded aluminum heat transfer panels, with Uponor Wirsbo 3/8" or 1/2". AQUAPEX or hePEX plus in floor joist applications. Each panel is 4 feet long by 3.5 inches wide, and comes packaged 20 per box.
Aluminum heat transfer plate light weight, good thermal diffusivity,is widely used in decoration floor heating pipe, hot water pipe heat. Aluminum heat transfer plate description: Aluminum heat transfer plate are installed between the floor joists to provide heat transfer across the bottom of the subfloor.
Joist space heat transfer plate systems allow you to e xperience the warm comfort of radiant heating without altering your existing flooring. Designed specifically to install in the joist space under a suspended wood floor, the systems usually require far fewer changes to the building, making it suitable for new construction or renovation.
Radiant Design & Supply, Inc. (formerly Radiant Engineering Inc), in Bozeman, Montana, manufactures and supplies ThermoFin extruded aluminum heat transfer plates. We supply high performance boilers and all the components you would need for a hydronic radiant heating system.
The Roth Radiant Floor Panel System is an easily assembled PEX tubing track system that allows simple installation of hydronic radiant floor heating over an existing subfloor. The system is designed around a 90 psi (6.3 kg/ cm2) high density polystyrene foam field panel with a bonded 24 ga. aluminum
RHT OMEGA Heat Transfer Plates offer an efficient method of distributing radiant heat from PEX tubing. Made in America from a mill finish aluminum. Radiant Floor Heating - Aluminum Heat Transfer Plates . Radiantmax aluminum heat transfer plates are installed between the floor joists to provide heat transfer across the bottom of the plywood The 1/2" BPEX tubing fits snuggly into round channels formed into the aluminum.
Can be used for under the subfloor (staple-up) or sandwich type radiant heating installations to improve heat transfer properties of the system and lower the water supply temperature, effectively reducing the heating bills. Recommended spacing for parallel tubing runs is 8" OC. Edges of the plates should not touch each other or intersect.
Jan 04, 2012· Like UltraFin, fin-tube is a CONVECTOR, not a radiator, and needs a bit of vertical space to do it's work. But it would take a lot of fin-tube to do a radiant floor, and the standard heat transfer plates are both cheaper and do a better job of getting the heat out of the plumbing and into the floor.

May 10, 2017· We’re retrofitting an existing house with under-floor radiant heat. From my research, it seems clear that we should install aluminum heat transfer plates, but I haven’t been able to determine whether it’s worth investing in the extruded aluminum C-shaped heat transfer plates over the sheet metal (omega or U-shaped).
High efficiency, low temperature heat sources, such as condensing boilers, geothermal, or solar, can now be better utilized by the radiant heating system. The manufacturing process for a graphite plate has a substantially lower carbon footprint and lower CO 2 emissions as compared to aluminum.

Oct 17, 2007· I plan on installing a radiant system in the spring in a new residential construction. I would like to install pex above the sub floor. I've seen pros and cons about if the aluminum diffusers are really needed or not. At about $1 per foot X 2700 square foot house (+ basement and garage heating) that adds up to a lot for something that many people have differing opinions on.
These die-formed aluminum heat plates snap into the grid modules and help conduct heat from the tubing into the floor. They're also used in staple-up systems to secure PEX tubing to the underside of the sub-floor to maintain contact between the tubing and the sub-floor.
for *above floor* sandwich applications or in ceiling heating, I'll recommend stapling one side of a light plate to allow it to accept the tubing after the fact it doesn't affect the final contact of plate to finish floor in that case. but in joists, staple staple staple.
Jan 25, 2012· The plates with a slight air gap and then insulation below will be the most efficient at transfering heat to the floor. A plate with no insulation will transfer heat to both above and below. The tube, with an air gap, and then a good insulation will transfer more heat to the floor, than the uninsulated plate.
